Desktop Free View Meme

Tagged by Joni and I obliged. Haha. Why? Because I think it’s fun. ;) To those that I would tag after this, here’s what to do:

A. Upon receiving this tag, immediately perform a screen capture of your desktop. It is best that no icons be deleted before the screen capture so as to add to the element of fun.

You can do a screen capture by:

[1] Going to your desktop and pressing the Print Scrn key (located on the right side of the F12 key).

[2] Open a graphics program (like Picture Manager, Paint, or Photoshop) and do a Paste (CTRL + V).

[3] If you wish, you can “edit” the image, before saving it.

B. Post the picture in your blog. You can also give a short explanation on the look of your desktop just below it if you want. You can explain why you preferred such look or why is it full of icons. Things like that.

C. Tag five of your friends and ask them to give you a Free View of their desktop as well.

D. Add your name to this list of Free Viewers with a link pointing directly to your Desktop Free View post to promote it to succeeding participants.

No screenshot of my laptop wallpaper yet. Haha. Here’s from my personal computer

I don’t exactly hate, but I dislike cluttered and unorganized stuff too. That is why I try to avoid having a lot desktop shortcuts eventhough I think I use almost all of the programs I have installed. I constantly check the ones I rarely use then remove it. If I had to take a screen capture of my browser, it’s stuffed with all the add-ons. Seish thinks it’s too much. Haha. And I don’t care! It makes my life easier. :P

I know, I know. I am still stuck with that Transformer wallpaper. I believe it is more embarrassing to display my Photoshop-ed profiles. Haha! Hmm, if you want to start explaining why you chose those shortcut icons on your desktop like I do, go ahead! But it isn’t required. So I have…

  • Sony Ericsson File Manager to transfer the pictures I took from my phone. I am a camwhore.
  • Chikka Messenger to send international and local text messages for free. I am a texter…(well, I used to be).
  • Nero StartSmart to burn cd and dvd copy requests for family and friends so that they won’t have to get my original copy. Haha. I am a pirate.
  • Winamp (now v5.5) to listen to music! What else? This is my only companion in boredom series each day. I am a music-lover.
  • Yahoo! Messenger to get connected and get update from friends through chatting. Well, I wish I could stay invisible sometimes if not just for my boss who checks my attendance online. I also use MSN, but it’s an exclusive account.Haha. I am attached to online communication.
  • Google Earth to learn more about the places I want to see, browse interesting pictures and travel around the world by just sitting in front of my computer. I open it almost everyday. The least would be once a week. Haha! I could content myself with that for now. ;) I am a virtual traveler.
  • PowerDVD to watch my favorite tv series and movies on dvd which I buy from Quiapo and St. Francis square. Hmm, I haven’t been there in a while. No police raid reported yet? Haha. I am a flickster. ;)
  • Mozilla Firefox (hmm, I should delete this shortcut. It’s already on my taskbar. I am a Firefox fan.
  • IBP and Arelis to help me with my SEO tasks. Whew. Let’s not go there. I am an SEO Specialist (ugh…)
  • FileZilla Client to make uploading easier than logging on to 01ftp.com or net2ftp.com every time. Most of the time I directly make changes on my client’s ftp site. I am a pro-uploader and downloader.

I am done! Now it’s Ruben, Mirkey, Pangz, Seish and Reah’s turn. Please do this…NOW! Haha.

The Last Of Early Morning Musings

Simple pleasures - I am deprived of it. Just like waking up early in the morning on a rainy day, the best time to be curled up longer in bed and enjoy snoozing, to run towards my nephew who is already crying like a hungry hyena and fix some breakfast. Well, I don’t usually cook for breakfast - but attending to the needs of others somehow makes me feel domesticated. Argh. Well, shouldn’t I?

My life revolves around my family and I really shouldn’t be complaining. I chose to work at home to be with them more, see them everyday, enjoy the meal with them and free them of their worries when I used to go home late from work. Well, there are definitely a lot of advantages than disadvantages. By far, this is probably one of the best decisions I have made. For every decision that I make or would make, I always have them in my thoughts before making a step. Even if I had to be physically away from them, I know sacrifices has to be made. After all, love is a decision not an emotion.

This reminds me of a few lines from Stardust the movie which I watched together with my brothers. See? I even date them instead of someone or my friends. Haha.

“I know a lot about love. It was the only thing that made watching your world bearable. You could search to the furthest reaches of the universe and never find anything more beautiful.” - Yvaine

Now talking about the movie (sudden change of topic), the interpretation was suprisingly appealing and done beautifully. Although it’s slightly different from what I have read 2 years ago - the changes in sequencing of events and some characterization added to develop an entire movie plot - it’s still a great movie to watch. It is magically entertaining, I’m telling you. ;) I know for a fact that novels-turned-into-movies don’t usually get the whole view of the author and capture every detail in the film, so I didn’t expect much. The key is to stop predicting what would or should happen (if you have read the book) and just enjoy the movie! :) And thank me for not posting a review about it. Haha

It’s a happy ending all right. But I guess it is more important to point out that this movie probes one question: How far would you go to get what you’ve always wanted?

And what if you found out that it is not what you actually wanted…?

The Story Behind “My Precious”

October 20, 2007 2 comments

See this ring? This has been with me for years now. This ring – and the others that I have lost somewhere - is the only jewelry I have always loved on me. Necklaces leave a trail of skin blotches around my neck; bracelets easily slip down wrists; earrings make my ears swell of irritation. Well, I can tolerate jewelries dangling on my body for a while – but for long periods of time? Honestly, you can just kill me. Haha. I would rather keep the jewelry gifts than wear and lose it. If my ex accidentally got to read this, don’t worry YOUR gifts are in my safety box. So what I am saying is, a perfectly-fitted ring would be your best bet if you plan on giving me some bling bling. Haha! Unfortunately, this one didn’t come from him. This is where the story of this ring enters. It’s not even from someone special, but from some guy I only met once. Oh, believe me. If this was given to me personally, I definitely would have refused to accept it. But he just slipped it inside my bag and I didn’t know how he did that. I wasn’t even sure if he legally acquired the ring when he gave it to me or just snatched it away from a jewelry shop while the attendant was busy doing other things (like how he slipped it in my bag, I suppose). Anyway, I popped the box open and saw a resemblance of an engagement ring and then a note. It’s too mushy I couldn’t even bring myself to disclose it here. Besides, I think you’d laugh at how infantile it may sound – I mean, how could you say that to someone you just met? Anyway, you get the drift.

There had been times when I misplace it, almost always lose it like the other ones I have had yet it always comes back to me. And maybe there is a reason why – that is to scare away every guy who sees it on my left ring finger. It says I am engaged or worse, married. Invisibly labels my face with the words in bold letters: OFF LIMITS. Cool. Haha. The only thing is, it’s just a fake sign and it tells you not to believe in everything you see. I’ve been asked a few times about this too, brought some controversial issues at some point – but there was no truth in what they have always thought. All that their mind could see was just a lie and yet they chose to accept it until they have discovered the truth in the end.

Actually, this symbolizes an engagement with my dreams and goals in life. If I decided to remove and replace this, it would mean that I am ready to give it up for something more valuable and special than these dreams – or, to make it sappier, if my dreams have finally turned into a reality by finding someone I’d be willing to spend my whole life with.

To my dear cousin and friends who are about to tie the knot with their special someone soon, I am so happy for you. Yes, I am happy. Even if I know we can’t hang out anymore without having you worry about the kids and home when we are out. Haha. Seriously, I hope that you would cherish your life, grow, and smile despite the pain – together. Once you promise to love someone, make sure you can keep it forever.
